I cut my HAIR!

So once again I normally don't put photos of me of my friends on here, but I thought I'd share my latest look with you! So if you see me out, you won't have to hesitate to ask, if it's me. lol. I have totally embraced short hair! I have long hair for the majority of my life, and it was some sort of comfort blanket. So here we are with out further ado...

My First Published Works

These cakes were the first four cakes ever published in a magazine. My mom has allll of those articles. Thank God for maintaining my sanity, it has been a long four years lol. I was published about 4 months into my career, and I want to thank Radhika Day, editor and chief of Weddings in Houston magazine for believing in my gift and talent! I was so humbled by this experience.

Long Time, No Blog

Birthday Cakes! So fun! We do these everyday at Cake Couture. We make memories for some of the most awesome people. From George Foreman V to Tiffany Boxes for our little Houston Socialites. Everyone has such a unique approach to how to spend their perfect day. We're just glad we could give them sweet moments! Enjoy.

At Last

It's been a while people. I have just fully recovered from the hit of a lifetime, to a business. Hurricane Ike completely relocated the many businesses and perhaps some dreams and aspirations for others. I am very blessed so favored by God, that the transition was minimal in the grand scheme of things. It's a New Year and a New Time to do a New Thing. So here we go...

My Mama's Favorite (lately anyway lol)

I was wondering what I would do this year for the Weddings in Houston, Bridal Soiree, it's a very classy event geared toward the discerning bride. Every year we have the opportunity to work with the an awesome floral designer to feature a cake in their own design. This year one of my very good friend's in the business, J. Aubrey Sellers and I chose to work together. This cake was actually designed by Aubrey and executed by me. Our table by design, was definitely a hit at the show! Friends Helping Friends...

Soooo, these cakes were photographed by a great friend in the business, Collins Metu! (check out his website: http://www.collinsmetuweddings.com/ ) Absoulutely brilliant photography, since he is trying to make his mark on Houston, I thought it would be cool to give him some photo credits in some up and coming magazines! He doesn't need too much of my help, but I thought I would offer. The first cake is actually already published in Modern Luxury Bride's Houston Magazine. The last cake was featured at the Houston Bridal Extravaganza via Floral Artist Extraordinaire, Rob Smith at Events in Bloom, he wanted me to create a cake to match a rug in his Floral display, it looked grrrrrreat! Although these "cakes" are "dummies", don't they look good enough to eat!?
